What should I expect?
We’re committed to providing a superior and stress-free spa experience wherever you are. We bring a heated table, luxury sheets, and premium essential oils to create a soothing atmosphere. Upon arrival, Heather will need about 15 minutes to set up. Once the space is ready, she’ll consult with you to choose the music and essential oils you find most relaxing, and to locate any painful or tense areas so she can determine how much pressure to apply. No matter which service you’ve booked, your appointment is completely personalized to provide the most beneficial and healing experience possible.
What do I do during a massage?
For an In-Home: After consult, Heather steps out for your privacy while you undress to your personal comfort level. You will then lay down on the massage table underneath a sheet and blanket. All you need to do is breathe and relax. Feedback is always encouraged in order to meet your needs.
For Corporate/Mini Sessions: Staying dressed, you will lie down on the table. Compression, and kneading strokes are utilized without oil. Please wear loose comfortable clothing for your comfort.
What if something hurts?
Please say so. Here are some things you can say if something is uncomfortable: "is that supposed to hurt?"... "that’s too tender"... " a little less pressure please", or " that feels too intense" . Heather always encourages feedback.
What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?
We firmly believe that massage can bring you better quality of life by relieving stress, pain, and soreness. Massage has many benefits in addition to relaxation. According to The Mayo Clinic, massage can be helpful for anxiety, digestive disorders, Fibromyalgia, headaches, insomnia related to stress, soft tissue strains or injuries, sports injuries, and joint pain.
How will I feel after?
It’s our goal to help you feel very relaxed after your massage. Some common experiences include feeling refreshed and energized while others may feel so relaxed they need a nap. Occasionally, mild soreness may occur following a deep tissue massage, as it helps flush lactic acid, and release tension in deeper layers of muscle. Drinking plenty of water usually helps prevent this.
How much space do I need?
We request a minimum 5 foot by 7 foot space to provide comfortable walking room around the massage table.
Can I ask for more pressure?
Absolutely. Communication is key for receiving the best possible massage for your body type.
How often should I get a massage?
We recommend getting a massage once every 2-4 weeks to experience longer lasting results.
